I'm doing fine and baby has done a nice job of staying put despite all the chaos in our lives this summer. My due date is this Friday, so we'll see how close she comes to that when making her entrance! As I sit at my desk at work and write this, I'm watching my stomach morph into different shapes (quite the mover!) so I am constantly reminded of her presence.
Some time this morning, Chris is set to get the PICC line removed from his arm. Horray! He has been looking forward to this as it means the end to receiving TPN at night and the end of the general hassle involved in maintaining and dealing with the line. And it will make him more comfortable in dealing with the baby.
So...we'll let everyone know when the baby has arrived! Have a great week.

What is Crohn's Disease?
Crohn's diease is a chronic disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive tract. Although it can involve any area of the digestive or GI tract, it most commonly affects the small intestine and/or colon.
Crohn's and a related disease, ulcerative colitis (UC), are the two main disease categories that belong to a larger group of illnesses call imflammatory bowel disease. Because the symptoms of Crohn's and UC are so similar, it is sometimes difficult to determine which one you have. In fact, approximately 10% of colits patients are unable to be pinpointed as either Crohn's or UC and are called indeterminate colits. I was in that 10%!
In healthy individuals, the immune system protects the body from infection. In people with Crohn's, however, the immune system reacts inappropriately. Researchers belive that the immune system mistakes healthy microbes for foreign, invading substances and launches an attack. In the process, the body sends white blood cells to the area, where they produce chronic inflammation. These cells then generate harmful products that ultimatelylead to ulcerations and bowel injury.
