A Week Later...

...we spent part of the evening outside in the hospital's courtyard together as a family! It was Chris' first time off the third floor on his own and the first time outside since he checked in last Wednesday. Dr. Graham is pleased with his progress and his tests are coming back normal. Although his bowels took a little longer than normal to "wake up", things are now beginning to get more active and hopefully he will be able to start clear fluids tomorrow (Thursday). After they're sure the liquids are digesting well, he'll progress as tolerated until he's eating normally and thus ready to come home. We sure do miss him around here!!! I am very proud of Chris' strength and patience as I know all of the resting and waiting have not been easy. Thanks to the daily visitors who have helped break things up a bit. You all are the best support system ever!
